
Jennifer dreamed of all her life to become a multitasking superstar. As a child Jennifer was a fan of many different musical styles, mostly Afro-Caribbean musics like merengue, salsa, and Bachata. Also, she was a fan of mainstream music such as hip hop, pop and R&B. Though she was passionate about music, the film industry also interested her. West Side Story (1961) the musical by Rita Moreno that inspired her the most is also her biggest influence. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer, besides being an entertainer and a Catholic schoolgirl, attended for eight years of Holy Family Catholic Primary School located in The Bronx. After a four year stay at the school, she was able to graduate from Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer was a skilled athlete who participated in tennis and track in school, was an exceptional pupil. Her entire life was growing up in a house with two stories in the Castle Hill neighborhood. After turning 18, Jennifer moved out of the home of her parents. Lopez was employed at legal firms throughout the day. She also took up dance jobs at night.
